Who is responsible

apputil.com is operated by Rodrigo Brito, acting as the data controller for the limited processing described below. For any privacy request, write to [email protected].

What we do not collect

There are no user accounts, no registration forms and no newsletters. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or payment details, and we do not sell personal data.

Crucially, the values you type into a calculator — your weight, your salary, your loan amount, the text you convert — are processed entirely inside your browser using JavaScript. They are never transmitted to us and never stored on a server, because the site has no application backend.

What is stored in your browser

Some features need to remember things between visits. They use your browser localStorage, which stays on your device and is never uploaded to us.

• Favourites — the tools you starred, so they appear on your favourites page.
• Recently used — the last tools you opened, to speed up repeat visits.
• Preferences — interface choices such as unit system or theme, where a tool offers them.
• Consent — your cookie choices, so the banner does not ask again on every page.

Advertising: Google AdSense

The site is funded by advertising. We use Google AdSense, which is operated by Google LLC and its affiliates, to serve the advertisements you see.

Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, measure their performance and — where you have consented — personalise them based on your visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by Google at any time through Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com), and you can opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices and youronlinechoices.eu. Refusing consent does not remove advertising — it makes it non-personalised, served on the basis of the page content rather than a profile.

Audience measurement: Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which tools are used and where the site is slow or broken. It records aggregated information such as pages viewed, approximate region, device type, browser language and referring site. IP addresses are handled by Google in truncated form and we never link measurement data to an identifiable person.

Analytics only runs after you allow it in the consent banner. You can also install Google's browser opt-out add-on from tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Consent and Consent Mode

On your first visit a banner asks how you want analytics and advertising cookies to behave. Until you make a choice, we run Google Consent Mode with analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization set to denied, which means no advertising or analytics cookies are used for profiling before you decide.

Your choice is stored locally and can be changed at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.

Hosting and technical logs

The site is served as static files from our infrastructure. Like every web server, it writes short-lived technical logs containing the requested URL, timestamp, user agent and IP address. These logs exist to detect abuse and diagnose failures, are not used to build profiles, and are rotated automatically.

Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers to fetch the font files.

Legal bases for processing

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on your consent (Article 6(1)(a)) for advertising and analytics cookies, and on legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) for the minimum technical logging required to keep the site secure and available. Where the Brazilian LGPD applies, the equivalent bases are consent and legitimate interest.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because we hold no account data, most requests concern data held by Google as an independent controller, and we will point you to the right mechanism.

Residents of California may, under the CCPA/CPRA, opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; refusing advertising consent in our banner is the mechanism we provide for that. To exercise any right, or to complain, write to [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority — the ANPD in Brazil, or your national data protection authority in the EEA and the UK.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. Advertising is not personalised for users identified as minors.

Data transfers and retention

Google processes data on servers located in several countries, including the United States, under the transfer mechanisms described in its own privacy documentation, such as the EU standard contractual clauses. We retain no personal data ourselves beyond the technical logs described above.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the updated date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes affecting how cookies are used will re-open the consent banner so you can review your choice.
